UGH!!!

Ok so I don't know what the world is throwing at me but I have just about had it. It is the end of the semester and I am ready to just quite. Ever since spring break I have been sick on and off and it happens everytime I am supposed to go see my very first Niece. This weekend I rode to Jackson with my cousin to babysit for my sister I woke up this morning and wham I am sick. Well I am so broke but I don't have insurance so I to the minor care clinic where it is only 30 dollars a visit. They ran a strep test and a mono test coming out to be that I have Strep Throat. Which is better than Mono. Life is just horrible.

Web Tools

Ok the web tools we used in class were very helpful. I really liked the irubric page. This is really nice to have so I don't have to go and create my own rubric.

Advisment

I just wanted to drop a note and remind everyone of advisement this week. I talked to a friend and she forgot she had an appointment. For those of us who are moving on to intermediate hope yall get the block yall want I did.

Just a thought

I have come to realize that you never know what the future holds and with that in mind don't hold back anything. Live like there is no tomorrow, only God knows what is next don't pass on any opportunity that comes your way! Find the good not the bad, so even thought it will be a long day and I didn't sleep at all it will be a good day because I will be out of the house trying to get better. Have a great day everyone.

Ho Hum Spring Break

I have come to realize that it is not "my typical" spring break unless someone dies and either my husband or me is sick. Well this year his great aunt has passed away, and I got thrown from my horse on Saturday and woke up today with a sore throat. Ah Spring Break gotta love it. Hope everyone else has a great one.

New Baby!!!

Ok, so my new Neice Caroline has made her arrival into the world on March 10, 2009 at 9:24 P.M. 4lb 14oz. She was almost 5 weeks early and she is in the NICU @ St. Dominic's in Jackson. Hopefully she will be able to come home in a week to a week and a half. So I had to miss class on
Wed. because her Aunt had to be there to spoil her! Oh I love her so much and can't wait till she comes home.

Is school really for learning?

So is it just me or do "some" teachers just automatically assume that we know everything and that we are just here for fun! I mean I am in school to be a teacher because I need to be taught to teach not because I already know how to. I am just a little upset that we get so much conflicting information from teachers. I just want school to help me move forward not be so much stress and confusion. These lesson plans are gonna kill me at least one class of them will.

Essay Question's

This is terrible doing homework on vacation ugh!!
Well here is what I take on the answers to my question's, I wasn't sure about number one and no one else has seemed to have been assigned it or posted yet so did the best I could.

1. How does an understanding of computer terminology assist a student with successful operation of current computer hardware concepts? (chapter 1)

• Understanding the basics of a computer helps the student know how it functions. If the student knows basically what each part does then they should be able to use the computer pretty well. If the student knows that Microsoft work is a sofware program which means it is a set of instructions to produce word documents. The hardware is what actually makes the software run. The central processing unit is the brain of the computer, it contains the arithmerric/logic unit, the control unit, and the memory. Other devices are the storage, which include magnetic disk drives, display devices which are the screen, and the input devices such as the keyboard. Finally to get the end result you have the out put devices which are the printers. So if the student can grasp what each of these basic funcitons do then they should be able to execute a document using the example above of a word processing software system.

10. What are some strategies for keeping the documents of a website organized? (chapter 6)

• There are a lot of different stratiegies for keeping your website pages organized. Try breaking up the small links into two big chunks, teacher and children. Within these two you can put these into sections of subject content. Within the subject content then you can have children publications and also what information will be covered in each subject area.

Ready for the Holiday

So I am really, really excited about the Mardi Gras Holiday!! I don't celebrate the holiday I may go to a parade or something but not this year! I am however leaving tonight to go to Tampa for the Holiday!!! I love any chance to get out of Mississippi and it is great to break up the semester. So everyone have a great time and please be safe.

Since I must Post more often

I would just like to say that I love my CIP340 Class and if anyone out there is splitting up intro block please, please do your self a favor and take Kevin Walker. That class is so much fun. We got to break up into groups and we do role playing. Which really helps to ease the pain of having to present a chapter. I am learning so much. I think that all of the into block classes are fun though I am in all of them this semester. This class is also very very helpful because I don't do technology well and this class is making it a lot easier to cope with. Have a great rest of the week and weekend!

Pains

Ok we are supposed to write if this was a pain or not. But this was not much of a pain like some other teachers are. This is a relatively easy thing for me to do. A sick adult is more of a pain than this was. I know that school is hard but the rewards we reap from ths seeds we sow in school will be well worth is when we finish. I am reminded of Nemo or as my nephew says "MEMO, Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming," so we must not get discouraged during this process. Life is not great all the time and if people tell you that it is they are lying to you. Keep a realistic outlook on life, and you will be able to handle all the lemons life hands you.
